Swim Lessons

Instructors will be at pool locations from 9am to 9:15am for morning lessons and 5pm to 5:15pm for the evening lessons the Tuesday prior to the start date of classes. (i.e. Tuesday June 10th for Session 1).

If there is space available, you may register your child at that time. The following swim level information is for both children and adult classes.

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

01

Introduction to Water Skills

Helps students feel comfortable in the water.  Skills include: water entry & exit, underwater exploration, swim on front & back with arm and leg actions, float on front and back, safety skills.

Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Gives student success with fundamental skills. Skills include: water entries, underwater swim, rolling over, swim on side, float on front and back, treading water, front and back glide, combined strokes on front & back, safety skills.

Stoke Development

Builds on Level 2 skills through additional practice. Skills includes: jump into deep water, survival float, front and back crawl, butterfly kick & body motion, submerge and retrieve an object, dive from kneeling or standing position, safety skills.

Stroke Improvement

Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills. Skills include: front & back crawl, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, safe diving rules, throwing & reaching assists, safety skills.
05

Parent/Child – 6 months – 5 years

To help develop swimming readiness by leading parent and their children in water exploration activities with the objectives of having fun and becoming comfortable in water.

Additional Notes

*On-site registration will be held on the Tuesday prior to the start of each session from 9am – 9:15am for morning lessons and 5pm – 5:15pm for evening lessons. If space is available you may register the student at that time. Class must have a minimum of 8 registered swimmers to be held.

NOTE: Classes are scheduled Tuesday through Friday for a total of 8 classes. There are no Monday classes! The first class of each session will involve skills screening.
